Whether you go to an exhibition, conference or to the entrance lobby of a corporate office building, it’s probable that you will have encountered a cassette roller banner stand.
Although cassette banner stands are pretty much everywhere, the advances in eco-technology and display design have now made them an environmental taboo.
That’s right, cassette roller banner stands are terrible for the environment. In this article, we explain five reasons why…
1. Cassette roller banner stands are complicated to recycle
They are complicated to recycle as there are so many different materials and components, especially in the roller cassette.
2. Made from unrecyclable materials
Roller banner stand graphics are often made of unrecyclable materials like PVC, so when it comes to end-of-life, it’ll end up in landfill.
3. Or they’re made from unknown materials
When ordering cheap cassette roller banners, it’s likely you won’t know what material the graphics are made from, making them impossible to recycle responsibly anyway.
4. Cassette roller banners have a HUGE carbon footprint
Roller banner stands are imported from overseas, so come with a significant associated carbon footprint.
5. Carry cases are complicated to recycle
Most roller banner stands are supplied with a carry case for easy transportation, and these are often made from Nylon. Classed as a non-biodegradable synthetic, when Nylon is manufactured it creates nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas 310 times more potent than carbon dioxide. That’s just not a good environmental solution, in fact it’s pretty harmful to the planet.
Nylon is also complicated and expensive to recycle, so it will most likely end up in landfill.
Make the switch to eco-friendly banner stands
The good news in, there are now great environmental alternatives to roller banners that have little or no impact to the environment. The fact that you’ve landed on this page is evidence that you’re considering making the switch to eco-friendly banners already, that’s great!
